A large estate comprising impressive mature woodlands, meadows, allotments and a section of the Union Canal among other features. The site provides a good amount of biodiversity and recreational resource. There are connections with cycle networks and with residential areas. There are several small burns going from south to north. The Battle of Falkirk Muir (1745) is commemorated nearby.
